OUR ROOMS

All our rooms are modernly equipped with comfortable multifunctional seating furniture, which, if necessary, enables uncomplicated multi-person use, e.g. as a family room (double room DeLuxe).

There was something else, wasn’t there? If you want to go to the center of Germany, you could explore the beautiful Thuringian Forest and Bad Blankenburg, the place where Friedrich Fröbel worked. On our grounds you will find the Fröbel playground and a large meadow with a mountain hut.

Villa Frieden is conveniently located near Arnstadt, Weimar or Erfurt. The Thuringian Forest invites you to hike or visit interesting places of the former Thuringian principalities: Heidecksburg Castle in Rudolstadt, the armory at Schwarzburg Castle or the cities of Gotha, Weimar, Meiningen. The Rinne and Schwarza valleys are at your feet. With the Oberweißacher mountain railroad you must have driven absolutely, like on the traces of Friedrich Fröbel went. Many great sights are waiting to be discovered. That is, just start hiking, driving, biking or complete a Nordic walking tour.

Worthwhile is a trip over the Rennsteig to the glassblowing town Lauscha. Follow in the footsteps of Martin Luther, Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Gottfried Herder or Lucas Cranach to Eisenach, Erfurt, Weimar and Jena or to the tranquil town of Neustadt an der Orla with its Cranach altar.

Villa Frieden is also a central starting point for trips to places of remembrance of German-German history.

On our grounds is the Fröbel playground for children who want to spend relaxing days with us with their families. The fairy caves in Saalfeld – the famous and most colorful show caves in the world and the adventure forest Feenweltchen are always worth a visit.

Organize a game night in the cozy mountain hut. End the evenings with a glass of wine on the terrace of the Café & Bistro Allianzhaus with a magnificent view over Bad Blankenburg to the Thuringian Forest.
